Our patient shown is recovering from a Achilles tendon repair and we are using Blood flow restriction training (BFR) to achieve improvements in muscle mass and strength at low training intensities to avoid extra stress on the repair. This type of training has been shown to result in similar muscle adaptation as high load training via a variety of different mechanisms. We have seen excellent results in our clinics as patients return from injury with quicker recovery using our BFR systems.
